Untitled Poem, William J. Kennedy Papers

This poem written by Jane M. Kennedy of LaSalle, Illinois was written on December 7, 1865. She laments the death of her husband, William J. Kennedy, recalling how he was only a few months away from coming home on furlough when he died in June 1863. She notes the end of the Civil War and that her husband died in a just cause. William J.
